Stellin, Susan. “Are Scanners Worth the Risk?.” The New York Times 13 Sept. 2010: TR3. Print.

In her article, Susan Stellin suggests that the controversial questions upon scanners in the airport for security purposes should be properly tested by real academics etc. instead of the companies that make them for effectiveness and to see if is a legal issue. Stellin makes her argument by going over the certain aspects of these scanners such as how they work, what they can see, what makes them safe, and opting out of going through them in the eyes of the employees who work with them and the companies that manufacture them comparing to the citizens who have to walk through them and the engineers and academics that are being denied the right to investigate further into these scanners and the details within them such as health and privacy issues etc. She assumes that her audience are from the daily airport travelers to the vacation travelers so they are aware of what is going on with there rights and safety while in the airport and the details to support it.
